Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actor for more than twenty years. Her best-known role is Skyler White on her role on the AMC Drama Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series. Her other roles include Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn was born in Sante Fe New Mexico, in 1968. The actress fell in love with performing in Preparatory School prior to moving to Ohio together with her family during the late 1970s. The theatre school she attended was Northwestern University, and spent an entire semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna was employed in the Chicago theatre for many years prior to taking on film and television roles. Anna was the first to get a major part in the role of Arden in the TV show Down the Shore. Down the Shore aired 29 episodes from 1992. Anna continued to be in film as well as TV shows such Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others up to the late the 1990's. She was then placed in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock, a character she played for two years on Deadwood's season two. The show was recast in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in 2008. Sully as well as Deadwood was a different film that she was a part of. Gunn also starred in David Schwimmer directed the film Sex With Strangers. In 2022, Gunn starred in a four-part audio-play podcast titled Numbered Days. Breaking Bad revolves around Walter White's wedding to Skyler. Walter White's life tale and the tension in the relationship he has with Skyler are mirrored in the series.
