Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is something you could call a "sleepy" area. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of communities. People who have never been aware of it frequently confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often referenced, however her brief stay was not. Brugel grew on Courtice located just outside Oshawa in Ontario. The first goal she had was to become a dancer. But, a growing increase caused her to surpass all of the dance partners she had. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6ft 1in tall in heels. As I grew older than my male companions, I quit. Dancers who have been in the past often switch to acting and in the instance of Brugel, it was a suggestion from her high school drama teacher. It was the teacher who recommended she pursue a role for the school's annual production. She tried out and eventually got the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with an Associate of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. In the past 20 years, her work has been seen on both the small and big screen. She gained the most attention when she won her role as Rita in the acclaimed television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in the Handmaid's Tale which was filmed over ten years ago.
